Perquackey

Shake ten letter dice and race the timer to build as many words as you can.

Perquackey is a fast-paced dice word game in which each player shakes ten letter dice and then races against a three-minute timer to write down as many words as possible using only the letters showing. Words must be at least three letters long and must use only the letters visible on the dice (each die can only be used once per word). The longer the words you form, the more points you score.

Scoring

  • 3-letter words: 1 point each
  • 4-letter words: 2 points each
  • 5-letter words: 4 points each
  • 6-letter words: 8 points each
  • 7+ letter words: 10+ points each (varies by version)
  • Using all 10 dice in one word scores a huge bonus — this is the "Perquackey" (named for the game itself).

Strategy tips

  • Don't start writing immediately — spend 10–15 seconds scanning the dice for a long word first. One 7-letter word outscores seven 3-letter words.
  • Build from short words. Write the 3-letter root, then extend it to 4, 5, 6 letters by adding prefixes or suffixes using remaining dice letters.
  • Look for common letter clusters among the dice: -ING, -EST, -ED, -ER, UN-, PRE-. These let you quickly extend base words.
  • If the letters are poor, prioritise speed — many 3-letter words beat a few failed attempts at longer ones when time is short.
